Word 'geography' appeared to be quite hard to picture. Unlike with other illustrations I had to figure out the idea, it has not been waiting for me in my head. But I guess it's a good thing - making my brain work harder :)

DS II 7 - Arcade

Fabulous Word Generator has given me this word - arcade. I checked if it has got a different meaning than I'm used to and, actually, the way I think of arcade is so much different than the dictionary's way ;)

For me word ARCADE will always be connected to games.

DS II 6 - Leaf

This time a word has been given by my friend. But she gives me words not to paint or draw them but to write short stories about them. However, as it usually is when it comes to visual creators - the image came to me faster than the plot ;)

DS II 4 - Synonym

It appears that this picture is really my 2nd one from this Daily Sketch, not 4th. When I was making posts about the previous ones this hedgehog hid somewhere and I thought 'that's all'. Then I found it. Good to know that I'm one less behind ;)

DS II 3 - Caring

Firstly, I wanted her to be a very cute fairy but at some point she got that mischievous face grin and then, from nowhere, a match appeared in her hands. I think she may not be caring in a way positive for you anymore... Now it's more like - caring to burn your house down when you least expect it ;)

Duet - Illustration Friday

Again - I've missed few IF topics and I will make them now. Slightly outdated but a picture is a picture, it always looks nice :)

Drawing time!

There will be many drawings here, so prepare :)

Don't know if you know that I and my friend Bartosz are aiming to become some kind of game creators - those responsible for 2D and 3D and concept art and so on. There is an University in Poland that educates in this certain field and we want to study there. On of the tasks that you have to pass to study there is creating something that a "jury" tells you - you go there with paper and pencil and no one knows what happens next ;P

That's why we've decided to practice our skill of instant drawing and creating complicated ideas that may get you through that stage of examination.

It looks like this - someone tells you "flower pot attacking a big city" and you have 15 minutes to draw it. Composition and character/scenery design are important.

I won't analyse the drawings here, just show them and tell the theme :)

It started with me giving a drawing theme for Bartosz - Drake and Elliot, two characters from the "Tunnels 2" book. I've described them and their situation shortly. This is what came out.


Then Kuba gave a theme for me and Bartosz - futuristic knight with some traditional elements.
This a bit ancient-like belongs to Bartosz.

Next one! My friend Monster Princess came and from now on she was the theme master and we 3 were drawing.

Bartosz decided he don't know what to draw so I gave him another theme: A super flying pig chasing with a balloon with dots. He made it a bit wrong because the balloon was supposed to have dots and I thought about a big balloon, the one where you can sit in a basket ;)

(in Polish) Double Evil - opowieść

Chyba pierwszy raz piszę tu po polsku :D I pierwszy raz pokazuję bardziej publicznie literackie wytwory mojej chorej wyobraźni. I to chyba pierwsze moje "opowiadanko" tak w ogóle.. Dużo tych pierwszych razów.

Ta opowieść została wymyślona podczas rysowania postaci do pracy konkursowej. Nie była konieczna. Jednak moje prace zawsze są jakieś takie skomplikowane i i tak muszę tłumaczyć o co mi chodziło. Tym razem tłumaczę to historią :)

Z radością wysłucham jakichś wskazówek na przyszłość.

"Double Evil"

Gaku. Najstraszniejszy i najgroźniejszy ze wszystkich Strażników Bramy znanych zwierzętom ziewnął przeraźliwie.
Nie tak wyobrażałem sobie tą posadę 20 lat temu - westchnął drapiąc się po boku - Niemożliwe jest, żeby w tak wspaniałym i znanym miejscu było tak nudno! - wykrzyknął sam do siebie zrezygnowany i ciężko opadł na swoje miejsce straży.
Kilka chwil później już smacznie chrapał, ukradkiem rzecz jasna, pogrążony w słodkiej drzemce. Ostatnio coraz częściej zdarzały mu się te drzemki. Chociaż było nudno i nie istniało chyba nic co mogłoby jeszcze Gaku zaskoczyć lub zainteresować, jedna mała rzecz bez przerwy odbierała mu całą energię życiową...
- TATOOO!
Cisza. Absolutny brak ruchu.
- Tatooooo!! No tato nooooo!!
Bez odzewu. Chociaż i tak wiedział, że udawanie śpiącego nic nie da.
- Tato! Udawanie śpiącego nic nie da! - stwierdził piskliwy głosik – Chodź, no chodź!
Z prędkością błyskawicy coś niemalże równocześnie pociągnęło Gaku za kolczyk w nosie, wytarmosiło lewe ucho i nadepnęło (z rozpędu!) na ogon.
- Ech – stęknął Strażnik – już idę. A miałem taki piękny sen – westchnął i zdrętwiały ruszył we wskazanym mu kierunku.
Strażnik Bramy ma za sobą wiele pięknych dni. Jako najznakomitszy wśród wszystkich Strażników może poszczycić się szacunkiem okazywanym mu przez wszelkie zwierzęta, ich lojalnością, przydatnymi kontaktami i postrachem jaki wśród nich budzi. Tak znamienita osobistość ma też wiele pięknych dni przed sobą, jednak nierozerwalnym elementem tych dni będzie ona – nieubłagana Krasula.
- Powinna mieć tak na imię – pomyślał Gaku zerkając na małego szkraba truchtającego tuż koło jego nogi – Nieubłagana Krasula. Albo lepiej Krasula Pogromca! - skwitował śmiejąc się do siebie.
Krasula, jak na córeczkę tatusia przystało, była największym pomocnikiem Strażnika Bramy, niestety samozwańczym. Pomagała mu we wszystkich możliwych pracach, zapamiętywała daty urodzin, czesała kitkę na ogonie, robiła śniadania na wynos i wszystko to co córeczka tatusia i asystentka w jednym powinna robić – żal stwierdzić, że z marnym skutkiem. Po kilku latach Gaku zdążył się już przyzwyczaić do spalonej jajecznicy, podeptanego ogona i wiecznego bałaganu pozostawionego na ścieżce (zniszczenia) Krasuli. Chociaż do ciągnięcia z uszy nie mógł się przekonać.
- Tatotatotato patrz! - piski wyrwały go z zamyślenia – Co to o to? - Krasula podskakiwała w zachwycie przy bramie pokazując kopytkiem to co stało za nią.
Nim Gaku zdążył zapytać stworzenie odpowiedziało samo:
- Jam jest wielki jeż Sebastian, przyszły najgroźniejszy Strażnik!
Ułamek sekundy wystarczył Gaku, aby stwierdzić, że jego krówce na pewno się to nie spodobało. I miał rację.
- Wcale, że nie prawda! Ja jestem przyszłym Strażnikiem i jestem groźniejsza niż Ty! - fuknęła Krasula i zmierzyła Sebastiana zabójczym spojrzeniem.
- Ja jestem najszybszy!
- Wcale nie, bo ja jestem najszybsza!
- A ja widzę najdalej!
- Na pewno nie! Wszyscy wiedzą, że to krowy widzą najdalej.
- Nie prawda! A tak poza tym to jestem najsilniejszy i zaraz Ci to udowodnię!
- Ja udowodnię to pierwsza! - krzyknęła Krasula i pobiegła w głąb jaskini - Najsilniejsza jestem ja, tylko popatrz!
Na taki popis siły jeż Sebastian nie był przygotowany – mała Krówka stanęła obok wielkiego, bardzo, bardzo długiego i ciężkiego ogona swojego taty i po chwili już go trzymała w górze uśmiechając się wyzywająco.
- Ale na pewno nie robisz najlepszej jajecznicy! - przybysz szybko zmienił temat.
- A żebyś wiedział, że robię! Tata mówi, że jest najlepsza!
- Zgadza się, – przytaknął Gaku - ale chętnie zjadłbym kiedyś omleta.
Krasula zamyśliła się. Nie umiała robić omletów, a bardzo chciałaby kiedyś uszczęśliwić tatę. Może ten jeż umiał robić omlety i by jej pokazał?
- Hej Sebastian. Umiesz robić omlety?
- Umiem. Ale takie nie za duże. Do robienia dużych potrzebowałbym asystenta bo mam za mało łapek. - przyznał jeż.
- Ha! - uradowała się krówka - W takim razie mianuję Cię moim asystentem i będziemy razem robić najlepsze i największe omlety dla mojego taty!
Malce uśmiechnęły się szeroko do siebie i pobiegły w głąb jaskini eksperymentować z omletami. Chyba decydowanie kto jest lepszy już im przeszło. Jednak coś mąciło spokój tej chwili:
- Nie wygląda mi to zbyt dobrze. – pomyślał Gaku z niepokojem – Mam co do tego złe przeczucia, oj bardzo złe...
I jak zwykle miał rację.
Sebastian został na trochę dłużej i zadomowił się w jaskini. Chodził z Krasulą zawsze łapka w kopytko i wszystko robili razem. Tyle szczęścia w jednym miejscu, to aż za wiele i aż zbyt boleśnie – omlet Goku był dwa razy bardziej przypalony, długi ogon Strażnika wieczni podeptany i dodatkowo cały w ranach od kolców, w terminach miał największy bałagan jaki pamiętał od początków swojej pracy przy Bramie i, o zgrozo, jego prawe i lewe ucho były ciągnięte równocześnie!
Gaku. Najstraszniejszy i najgroźniejszy ze wszystkich Strażników Bramy znanych zwierzętom westchnął i nie powiedział nic. Ciężko jest zawsze mieć rację.

Mam nadzieję, że się podobało :)

Daily Dictionary (1-7)

It's been a while since I and my friend Boschman started our daily Dictionary. What is this Dictionary thing? Every day, when we have a little brake, we open our dictionaries and with closed eyes we pick a word. Then we choose a better word from the two we have and make a quick sketch somehow connected with that word. The sketch takes 30 minutes - no more, no less.

I can already see (after 7 sketches) that I've improved a bit and that the ideas, which have to come very quickly, are more complex and have a little story behind them - just as with my finished pieces which take me more (much more) than 30 minutes. When you have so little time to show what you have on mind you start to search for actions of less effort and bigger result. I've started to use more brushes to show the texture and material of which items in the sketches are made. I have to play more with colours, which I didn't do at that early stage, to show the mood I'm thinking of. It appeared to be quite easy, though :)

The only thing that makes me sad is that most of the sketches would be great works. But with this speed and growing amount of them it is impossible (yeah, right) to finish all of them. Still, it's good to have them materialised somehow - not only floating in my mind :)
